Meet Elsa — the mama who saved her babies through the storm.

At only about 1½ years old and 65 pounds, Elsa has already been through more than most dogs should ever have to face. This beautiful girl was found hiding underneath a house during a brutal Louisiana winter freeze, doing everything she could to keep her four tiny puppies alive, warm, and fed. Because of her love and devotion, her puppies survived. Now her babies are growing up and finding forever homes of their own… and Elsa is learning that sometimes the greatest act of love is to “let them go.” This incredible mama has spent months protecting everyone else. Now it’s finally HER turn to be loved, spoiled, and safe forever. Elsa can be a little nervous with new people at first, but she warms up quickly once she realizes she’s safe. And honestly… after everything she’s been through, we think she’s earned the right to take her time trusting people. She is doing AMAZING in rescue, loves other dogs, and gets along wonderfully with them. This sweet girl deserves soft blankets, warm beds, gentle hands, full bowls, and a family who will never let her face another storm alone again. As much as Elsa loved being a mama, we think she’s finally ready for her own happily ever after.
