Sugar Buns

Sugar Buns is a charming blue and tan dachshund with congenital alopecia. Sadly, she suffered a spinal injury that left her paralyzed. After extensive treatments, her family made the difficult but loving decision to surrender her to ATDR so she could receive specialized and costly care. Sugar Buns has undergone stem cell therapy and other specialized IVDD treatments at Safari Veterinary Care Center, along with in-house physical therapy, which are showing promising results. Sugar Buns is a sweet and loving girl who showers everyone with kisses. She truly deserves to experience a normal life, moving around and enjoying every moment. She's now able to walk, albeit a bit wobbly, and zooms around the house and yard like the queen she is! She uses the doggie door and is mostly house-trained, only having accidents if she can't quite make it to the door or pad in time. She knows she needs to go outside, she just doesn't always make it.

Training & Support

Sugar Buns is mostly house-trained, with occasional accidents when she can't reach the door or pad in time. She knows she needs to go outside and is learning to manage her needs.
