Poppy is an 8-year-old pit bull mix with a heart of gold! She was found abandoned after the ice storm in 2021 and has been a loving companion ever since. Poppy is not aggressive, but she can be protective of her owners, especially in busy or unpredictable situations. She's been wonderful with young children and small dogs, though she would likely thrive in a home without children or with teenagers who understand how to give dogs space. Poppy is a couch potato who loves cuddles and is eager to please. She walks well on a leash, is crate-trained, and is treat-motivated. Poppy is looking for a calm, stable, and peaceful environment where she can feel secure and truly relax.

Poppy would do best in a quiet, low-traffic home with a consistent routine and limited visitors. She would likely thrive even more in a home with no children or with teenage-aged children who understand how to give dogs space and read their cues, especially if friends visit.
