Chance

Chance is a 4-5 year old male Basenji mix with a truly inspiring story. He was found living on the streets and came to us timid and scared, but he has made incredible strides in his foster home. He is smart, quirky, independent, and highly athletic. Initially, he was wary of human touch, but he now asks for cuddles and is becoming more trusting and playful every day. He's a courageous boy who is learning to embrace human interaction and is even teaching his foster family about patience and consent.

Ideal Home

Chance would thrive in a home with other dogs, a securely fenced backyard (he's a jumper!), and a family that is patient and committed to earning his trust. He's looking for a stable, loving environment where he can continue to blossom.

Ongoing Health

Chance is a healthy boy. He is potty and crate trained.

Training & Support

Chance is food-motivated and can be guarded over his food. He prefers to eat in his crate with the door closed. He is still learning to trust being leashed, and while he has made great progress, this will be an ongoing area of support. His foster family has found that when he has a leash on, he has chewed it off in the past.
