BAXTER (Gorgeous Low Shedding Boy, Loving, Sweet, Good with Kids & Dogs)

Baxter is a handsome, scruffy Irish Wolfhound/Giant Schnauzer mix with a sweet, loving personality. This 80-pound boy enjoys snuggling with his people, playing with squeaky toys, and showing off his excellent fetch skills. He was rescued after being abandoned and is now thriving in foster care.

Ideal Home

Baxter would love an active family who enjoys outdoor adventures as well as relaxing evenings together. He gets along with other dogs, especially female dogs, and is currently fostered with children ages 3 and 5, though older children may be a better fit because he does not always realize his size. A home without cats or chickens is recommended, as he is curious about them. His wiry coat is adorable, suited to cooler weather, and very low shedding.

Ongoing Health

Baxter is neutered, microchipped, current on all vaccines, and receives Credelio for flea and tick prevention and Interceptor Plus for heartworm prevention. He is scheduled for a full veterinary checkup to obtain a health certificate before traveling.

Training & Support

Baxter is crate trained and house trained, and he is learning about walking on a leash. He is not destructive and has generally not been a chewer. He sits calmly for baths and enjoys drinking from a garden hose, so water activities may be fun for him.
