Buddy

Meet Buddy, a gentle and initially shy 58-pound dog whose resilience shines through. Buddy was rescued in March 2025 after a difficult start in life, surviving in the snow with his littermates while painfully embedded with quills. Despite his rough beginning, he has blossomed into a dog who walks beautifully on leash and enjoys quiet affection. He is highly treat-motivated and, while he may be a bit shy at first, he warms up quickly, especially around women. A significant milestone for Buddy is his comfort with children, as he can now be hand-fed treats, a testament to his progress and the power of trust.

Ideal Home

Buddy would thrive in a home that understands the need for gentle guidance and patience. He feels most confident around female handlers, though he currently lives with men.

Buddy is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.

Training & Support

Buddy is treat-motivated and warms up quickly. Continued gentle guidance will help him build confidence.

Transportation

Buddy is currently in Eastern Washington, where he received his vetting. He may be transferred to a foster home in Pierce, King, or Snohomish Counties. Approved adopters in Western Washington will meet in Ellensburg, with potential volunteer hand-offs available if travel is difficult. Approved adopters in Eastern Washington may meet in Moses Lake, Quincy, or Omak.
