Rye is a 2-year-old Labrador Retriever mix, weighing 56 lbs and expected to gain a few more. He's a bundle of sunshine, happiness, and snuggles, with a goofy personality that's sure to brighten your day. Rye greets everyone like an old friend and lives each day like it's the best one ever. He can get a little jumpy when excited, but he's learning to sit for praise. He's affectionate, people-oriented, and happiest when he's close to you, whether that's lounging at your feet or leaning in for kisses.

Ideal Home

Rye would thrive in a home that enjoys playtime, walks, and some structure. He could do well in an apartment with plenty of exercise and enrichment, but a house with a yard would be ideal.

Ongoing Health

Rye is a young, healthy dog. His adoption fee includes all vetting, which covers vaccinations, deworming, flea prevention, a heartworm preventative injection, a heartworm test, and a microchip.

Training & Support

Rye is eager to please and has a sweet disposition. He's working on his leash skills and can be a bit all over the place when walking, but he responds well to corrections and loves treats, making him a great candidate for training success. He is also working on containing his excitement around smaller children.

Transporation

Rye is located in Texas. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system. Our transport includes drop off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). A $87 surcharge applies due to rising transportation costs. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
