Xanadu

Xanadu is a low-maintenance, even-keeled, serene, and affectionate black and white speckled merle girl, most resembling a Blue Heeler. This sweet and well-behaved 4-year-old weighs 40lbs and has a medium, wiry, curly coat. Xanadu genuinely gets along with everyone, including other dogs, and is very gentle. She settles into new households with confidence and grace, displaying politeness, patience, and trust. While she enjoys spending time outdoors, she also loves curling up on the couch or on your lap. She's independent and doesn't require constant supervision but still responds when called and is happy to see you. Xanadu lives to play tag with other dogs and has a unique way of showing affection by sitting on your feet, facing away, to claim you as hers. She was found as a stray in rough shape but has since recovered thanks to the care of GNAR volunteers.

Ideal Home

Xanadu would thrive in a home where she can enjoy both outdoor activities and cozy indoor time. She is very gentle with children and gets along well with other dogs. She would likely do well with cats as well.

Ongoing Health

Xanadu was found as a stray in poor condition with bald patches, rashes, and a thin coat, suggesting she may have recently weaned a litter. She has since recovered and is in good health.

Training & Support

Xanadu is a well-behaved dog. Her only noted "bad behavior" is an excited reaction to squirrels in the backyard. She comes when called and is happy to greet her people.
