Your Woodland Adventure Buddy with a Snuggly Side
Dewey is a 2-year-old, approximately 50-pound Carolina Dog mix who is equal parts outdoorsman and devoted companion. He loves hiking through the woods and then curling up beside you with his morning coffee. Dewey is incredibly smart and thrives when his brain is engaged. He enjoys playing hide-and-seek, "find it" with treats, and solving homemade puzzles. Sniffing is his favorite pastime, whether it's on a longline in the yard or on a woodland hike. He bounds through snow with pure joy and has a playful, goofy side that is impossible not to smile at. Dewey proudly carries his beloved squeaky ball and enjoys a good game of tug.
Ideal Home
Dewey would thrive with someone who appreciates both adventure and structure. A yard for sniffing and enrichment is a big plus. We recommend a home without young children, and an experienced adopter who can provide a calm, structured environment.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions were mentioned in the listing.
Training & Support
Dewey experiences leash reactivity toward passing dogs, people, and bicycles. He is improving with the help of his foster, but will need a confident, dog-savvy adopter committed to continuing positive reinforcement training and mindful threshold management. He is crate trained, food motivated, and follows a consistent daily routine beautifully. He waits patiently at the door before walks, settles well in his crate, and enjoys relaxing on his place mat.
