About Daisy Mae

Daisy Mae is a beautiful 2-year-old, 35lb spayed female pittie mix who has overcome a difficult start in life. Rescued as part of a police confiscation case due to abuse and neglect, she weighed only 18 lbs at six months old. It took months for her to learn that gentle hands could mean love, not harm. Today, Daisy Mae is a happy, affectionate, and playful girl ready to find a family to give her the safety and devotion she deserves. She adores kids of all ages and is gentle and loving with them. Daisy Mae has a moderate activity level, enjoying walks, playtime, and exploring, but she also knows how to settle down. She is great on leash, fully house-trained, and crate-trained. She loves car rides, heavy chew toys, and being near her people. When meeting strangers, she may act shy at first but warms up quickly and loves attention once she feels secure. Daisy Mae is the definition of resilience, a loving, loyal companion who greets every day with joy and trust.

Ideal Home

Daisy Mae would do wonderfully as an only pet, but can also be happy with a calm, confident canine companion if slow introductions are done. She needs a home that understands her past and provides gentle structure.

Ongoing Health

Daisy Mae has slightly runny eyes, which are suspected to be due to environmental allergies that flare up during rainy times of the year. This does not require treatment beyond occasional gentle cleaning and awareness of seasonal changes.

Training & Support

Daisy Mae is fully house-trained and crate-trained. Because of her past experience with food insecurity, she eats and enjoys treats in her crate to help her feel safe. She may bark at other dogs walking by when she's eating, so she is happiest when given space for mealtime and a calm environment where she can unwind. She can be a bit bossy during play with other dogs and benefits from slow introductions, doing best with balanced or confident dogs.
