Camila and Regina

Meet Camila and Regina, a delightful bonded pair of Shih Tzu sisters who are ready to find their forever home together!

Camila is a one-year-old, approximately 8.6 lb bundle of joy with a white coat and charming dark brown markings around her eyes, ears, back legs, and tail. Regina, a bright-eyed 10-month-old, weighs about 8.2 lbs and shares a similar white coat with lovely light brown accents. These two are as sweet and affectionate as they come, greeting everyone with wagging tails and happy hearts. They absolutely adore being cuddled and cherished, and their favorite pastime is simply being with their people. They walk beautifully on leash, are comfortable in their crates, and travel like seasoned pros in the car. They get along wonderfully with other dogs and are always excited to meet new humans!

Camila and Regina's journey began when they were found wandering together in Saltillo, Mexico. After it became clear they didn't belong to anyone in the neighborhood, they were safely rescued, received a thorough veterinary evaluation, and have been thriving in our care while awaiting their loving forever family. They've been through a lot, and now they're looking for a home where they can continue their lives side-by-side, filled with comfort, security, and endless love.

Ideal Home

A home with a fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor adventures would be perfect. Camila and Regina are looking for a family with a genuine commitment to rescuing a dog and an understanding of the unique needs and behaviors of street animals. Previous experience with dog behavior and training is highly valued, or a willingness to hire a professional trainer is essential. These intelligent girls require patience, high tolerance, and a dedicated approach to their education. They are not currently house-trained.

Ongoing Health

Camila and Regina have received a comprehensive health protocol, including spay/neuter, DHPPI and Rabies vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, deworming, microchipping, a 4DX test, a negative heartworm test, and monthly Nexgard Spectra preventatives. They also have health certificates and vaccine booklets.

Training & Support

Camila and Regina are not currently house-trained and will need consistent patience and guidance in this area. As rescued dogs, they may require an adjustment period to settle into their new home. Patience, understanding, and a consistent routine will be crucial in building trust and a strong bond with them.

• Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
• Submit photos and videos of your home as part of the application process.
• If your application is a potential match, we will schedule a call or video chat, introduce you to the pet, and conduct a virtual home tour.
• We will speak with 1-2 of your references.
• Upon approval, you will sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee, which helps cover vet care, spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and food.

Transportation

Camila and Regina are currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico. They are out-of-town pets and are ready to travel to the East Coast on our next cross-country trip if adopted! We offer door-to-door delivery, with scheduled trips 3-4 times a year. A contracted transport company will bring them safely across the border into Texas (for US adoptions) or to the US-Canada border (for Canadian adoptions) with all necessary legal and health documentation. You will receive real-time updates throughout their journey. A one-time transport fee of $400 USD covers the cost from Mexico to your home.
