Gina

Gina is an 8-month-old, 56lb, spayed female Belgian Malinois mix who was found abandoned in a cardboard box by the side of a busy road. Despite her rough start, Gina is now in a loving foster home and is eager to find her forever family!

Ideal Home

Gina would thrive in an active home with someone who will play with her daily. She enjoys the company of familiar dog friends and gets along with small dogs (under 15 lbs) and large dogs (over 75 lbs) in her foster home. However, she can be a bit apprehensive of unfamiliar larger dogs and barks at them due to a past negative experience. Slow introductions to new dogs are recommended. Gina also has a high prey drive and can be too enthusiastic around cats, so a cat-free home is preferred. She can be jumpy when excited and has no awareness of her size, so a home with older, dog-savvy children (10+) is recommended.

Gina is a healthy, spayed female. She is currently in her "puppy velociraptor stage" and needs guidance on appropriate chew toys.

Training & Support

Gina is crate trained and doing well with house training, with no accidents when crated for up to 8 hours. She walks nicely on a leash and shows no signs of separation anxiety. She prefers to eat treats alone. Future adopters should be prepared to provide regular socialization, positive training, and plenty of outlets for exercise, play, and enrichment, as she is expected to be a large, active dog.

Transporation

Gina is currently in Houston, TX. She can be transported out of state once an approved adopter is found.
