Kershaw is a handsome 9-year-old, 26-pound Terrier mix with a heart full of love to give! This smart and energetic boy is a total love bug who enjoys nuzzling and comforting his favorite people after a long day. He's eager to please and has already mastered commands like "sit" and "shake paws," and he's even crate trained and will happily "go to bed" when asked. Kershaw is house-trained and will let you know when he needs to go out by pacing or jumping. He enjoys his squeaky toys and loves to curl up nearby for a nap. He does have a slight heart murmur, but it doesn't slow him down one bit!
Ideal Home
Kershaw needs an adult-only home with no children, as he can be unpredictable around them. Due to his high energy levels, a home with a yard is essential for him to stretch his legs. He would do best with someone who has some experience with dogs and can provide him with plenty of exercise, as he can easily do a three-mile walk or run. He can also be a bit mouthy during play and is selective with other dogs, preferring people over canine companions.
Ongoing Health
Kershaw has a slight heart murmur, noted by his vets, but it does not affect his energy or overall well-being.
Training & Support
Kershaw is very smart and treat-motivated, making him eager to learn. He can be food aggressive and requires a special diet. He also needs patient owners who can help him build trust and warm up to them. Due to a bite history, he needs an owner who understands his sensitivities and can manage his food aggression and dog selectiveness.
