Peanut

Peanut and Butters are a bonded pair of sweet, gentle souls who have been through a lot together. Peanut, a Jack Russell/Beagle mix, is about 5 years old and weighs 41 lbs. Butters, a 55 lb American Foxhound, is also around 5 years old. They were found in a sugarcane field, starving and suffering from fleas and mange, and Peanut was especially ill with heartworms. She also carries pellets in her chest from being shot, making her sensitive to loud noises. Butters has always been Peanut's protector and comfort, and they are inseparable. Thanks to kind rescuers, they are now healthy, heartworm-free, spayed/neutered, and microchipped. They adore people and children and are happiest when they are close to their humans.

Ideal Home

Peanut and Butters would thrive in a calm, loving home where they can feel safe and relaxed. They do not do well with other dogs and would do best in a home without them.

Ongoing Health

Peanut and Butters are healthy and have been treated for heartworms. They are spayed/neutered and microchipped.

Training & Support

Peanut and Butters are still learning to trust after their difficult past. While they are gentle and loving with people, they can be fearful of loud noises. With patience and a stable environment, they will continue to blossom.

• Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
• Adoption fees are $80 for dogs between 6 months and 6 years old.
• You can visit and meet our pets Tuesday-Saturday, 10 am-2 pm.

Transportation:

Peanut and Butters are located at our shelter. We are able to provide transport within a 50-mile radius.
