Jack

Meet Jack, a one-of-a-kind Blue Heeler mix with an unforgettable smile. At one year old and 41 pounds, Jack is smart, athletic, loyal, curious, playful, affectionate, and wonderfully goofy. He loves adventures, fetch, toys, belly rubs, and being close to his people.

Jack was rescued from a rural shelter outside Houston after facing euthanasia. Once he feels safe, his loving personality shines through. He is still building confidence around unfamiliar people and busy environments, but he warms up quickly with patience and consistency.

Ideal Home

Jack needs an active, committed family familiar with cattle dogs and ready to provide exercise, mental stimulation, structure, enrichment, and socialization. Hiking, running, agility, obedience, fetch, and training games would suit him well.

He is dog-friendly and enjoys playful canine companions, though a dog sibling is not required. Jack loves children and enjoys running and playing with them. He may become a little mouthy when excited, including harmless nibbly behavior.

Ongoing Health

Jack is vaccinated and neutered. His adoption fee is $600.

Training & Support

Jack is highly food motivated, intelligent, and eager to learn. He knows sit and down, does beautifully in his kennel, and sleeps quietly through the night. He also enjoys sleeping close to his humans. His family should be prepared to give him time, patience, consistency, and support as he adjusts.
