About Coraline
Coraline is a sweet, laid-back 6-month-old Doberman or Beauceron mix weighing 45 lbs, with an estimated adult weight of 85-90 lbs. She's a delightful mix of sweet, curious, silly, cuddly, and endlessly entertaining, always keeping her foster family laughing with her quirky charm. Coraline adores a game of peek-a-boo and gets the cutest happy zoomies when you join in! She's deeply people-oriented and loves to be near her humans, following them around like a shadow. She shows affection through sweet puppy kisses and gently resting a paw or her nose against your leg. Coraline is calm and balanced, a perfect work-from-home buddy, content to entertain herself quietly. She's social with people and other dogs, greeting newcomers calmly before happily playing or exploring. Coraline is the best of both worlds: playful yet laid-back, independent yet loving, and goofy yet intuitive – your perfect sidekick, shadow, and best friend.
Ideal Home
Coraline would thrive in a home that enjoys a mix of adventure and relaxation, from leisurely walks to cozy evenings on the couch. She'll be happy joining you on short neighborhood walks or longer hikes and beach trips. She would benefit from a family that understands she's still gaining confidence in busy public areas, but with more exposure and socialization, she has the potential to be an amazing outdoor adventure buddy. She would absolutely adore a family that includes her in their outdoor adventures while also appreciating her calm, affectionate nature at home. A fenced yard is a must for her to run and play. No apartments or condos due to her potential nervousness in busy areas. She needs to have another dog in her forever home, and would do well with either calmer older dogs or playful, spunky dogs. She could also happily live with older children and cats, provided the cats are dog-friendly and have lived with dogs before. She needs her human home more often than not, but would do well with doggy daycare a few days a week.
Ongoing Health
Coraline is up-to-date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, has been spayed, microchipped, and is on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. She has had a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian and has received any necessary vet care while in rescue.
Training & Support
Coraline is potty trained and kennel trained, and sleeps in her kennel at night without fuss, though she loves to sleep in bed with her foster mom. She uses doggy stairs to get on and off the bed. She is treat-motivated and will step into her kennel for treats. She has started leash training and needs additional practice to boost her confidence on walks. She alerts her foster mom when she needs to go outside by pacing at the back door and can use a dog door. She needs to be taken out every 3-4 hours initially to establish a consistent schedule in her new home. Using a doggy doorbell is recommended if a dog door is not available.
