Meet Arthur!
Arthur is a 5-year-old, 78-pound neutered Staffordshire Terrier/Retriever mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart. This handsome boy is the perfect combination of playful adventure buddy and affectionate cuddle companion. He was found roaming a park and brought to a county shelter before a foster opened their home to him. Arthur approaches every day with enthusiasm and is a moderate energy dog who enjoys playtime, exploring, and spending time with his people. He's been successfully introduced to dogs of various sizes and is good at reading their social cues. Arthur is curious around cats and pot-bellied pigs, showing no aggression, though proper introductions and supervision are always recommended. He has also spent time with a young child and did well, but due to his size and excitement, he could accidentally knock over a small child during play. He's fully house-trained and crate-trained, settles nicely in his crate, and is comfortable being left for longer periods. Arthur absolutely loves car rides! He is outgoing, playful, curious, affectionate, and incredibly sweet. He enjoys toys, spending time with his people, and soaking up attention. Arthur may pull a bit on walks initially but settles into a routine well.
Ideal Home
Arthur would thrive in a home that provides regular exercise, structure, and plenty of opportunities to be part of the family. While he doesn't need another dog, he would be happiest with people who enjoy including their dog in everyday adventures. A family that understands his energetic nature and can provide appropriate outlets for his enthusiasm will be a great fit.
Ongoing Health
Arthur is a neutered male and has no known health conditions to be aware of.
