About Atlas Moose the Floppy Eared Goober

Atlas Moose is the kind of puppy that makes you laugh within the first five minutes of meeting him! Perhaps it's his giant floppy ears, or his tail that's practically as long as the rest of him. Whatever it is, this boy has personality for days. He's goofy, happy, affectionate, and still very much figuring out how to navigate life with those oversized puppy feet attached to him. He's approximately 5 months old, weighs around 42 lbs, and we believe he may be a German Shepherd/Bloodhound mix. With rescue, breed and age are always a mystery, but between those giant ears and his impressive nose, we're willing to bet there's some hound mixed in there somewhere! Atlas is still growing and has plenty of loose skin and big puppy feet left to fill out. He's essentially built like a baby moose!

Atlas is sweet, loving, curious, playful, and always ready for a good time. One minute he's bouncing around with a toy, and the next he's happily soaking up affection. He approaches life with the enthusiasm that only a puppy can have. He's a toy lover and a foodie who gets genuinely excited when snacks are involved, making him a blast to continue training. He already knows how to play fetch and will happily bring the ball back again and again!

Atlas has met adult dogs and has done well with them. Like many puppies, he can come on a little strong at first, being excited and eager to say hello. He was a little pushy with his sniffing during introductions, but he settled down nicely once greetings were over and listened when other dogs communicated with him. We think Atlas could do well as an only dog or with another medium to large dog that enjoys playful puppy energy. He would probably love having a canine playmate to wrestle with and burn off some of that puppy enthusiasm.

Ideal Home

Atlas would do best in a home with a backyard where he has room to run, play fetch, stretch those long legs, and burn off energy. He's going to need a family committed to training, socialization, and all the work that comes with raising a large breed puppy.

Ongoing Health

Atlas is a healthy puppy, up to date on all vetting including vaccinations, deworming, and flea/heartworm prevention.

Training & Support

Atlas is working on crate training and is doing great learning where the appropriate potty places are. Like any puppy his age, he'll need continued consistency, routine, and structure as he grows. The family that adopts him should be prepared to continue helping him learn how to be the best dog he can be.
