Meet Rambo, a 13-year-old dog with the heart and energy of a much younger pup! He's the perfect blend of playful companion and cuddle buddy. One moment he's romping with his dog friends, the next he's happily snoozing beside you. Rambo bonds deeply and becomes a true "Velcro dog," always wanting to be close to his people, yet he's also respectful of boundaries. He's a smart boy who knows "sit" and "stay" and is eager to learn more, especially with puzzle toys and enrichment games. He walks nicely on a leash and responds well to guidance.
Ideal Home
Rambo would thrive in a home with a person or couple who can give him plenty of love and attention. He would especially love having another friendly dog to play with and a securely fenced yard where he can run and explore. While he can be cautious with new people and animals, he does best with slow, respectful introductions, allowing him time to get comfortable at his own pace. A quieter home without a constant stream of visitors would be ideal during his adjustment period. He gets along well with cats and mostly ignores them. Rambo is looking for a home without young children but could potentially do well with older, respectful children aged 15+. Because Rambo can be an escape artist, a secure yard and careful attention around doors and gates are important.
Ongoing Health
Rambo needs monthly heart medication, which costs approximately $56 on Chewy. He will also require yearly to bi-yearly vet visits to monitor his heart. When he first came into foster care, he was underweight, but he has been gaining strength with a structured feeding plan and is now thriving.
Training & Support
Rambo is eager to learn and would enjoy puzzle toys, enrichment games, and training activities. He walks nicely on leash and responds well to guidance. While he can be an escape artist, he is usually easy to catch and responds well to calm handling. Patience and proper introductions will help him build trust and show his devoted companion side.
