Raquel

Raquel is an eleven-month-old Anatolian Shepherd who arrived from a large hoarding situation. While she was cared for, she lacked the crucial early socialization most dogs receive, meaning her understanding of the world is still developing. Despite her inexperience, Raquel is a profoundly sweet girl with an immense capacity for love. She's a bit shy and cautious with new experiences, needing a little time to observe and adjust. The great news is that Raquel is making wonderful progress and is actively learning to trust and engage with her surroundings. She's not as outgoing as some of her peers yet, but her confidence grows daily. With the right guidance and a patient approach, she's sure to blossom.

Ideal Home

Raquel is a large breed, likely to exceed 100 pounds when fully grown, so her new home must be prepared for her size. A securely fenced yard is a must. She is good with other dogs and cats. Due to her tendency to startle and her ongoing journey with confidence-building, Raquel would do best in a home with children over 10 years old.

Training & Support

Raquel is still learning about indoor living, leash walking, and everyday household routines. These are all part of her learning curve, not signs of difficulty. Patience, a consistent routine, and gentle guidance will be incredibly beneficial for her. Having another confident, friendly dog in the home would be a significant advantage, providing Raquel with a role model to learn from and gain confidence.
