Meet Trix, an 8-month-old, 35-pound spayed female Pitbull mix with the sweetest, smartest soul! Trix and her brother were surrendered to a shelter and she was the more reserved of the two. She needed extra time in foster care to build her confidence, and now she's ready to find her forever family.
Trix was undersocialized early in life and can be fearful of new people, but she has never shown any reactivity. When unsure, she seeks a safe space to hide, but she's gentle and just scared. She's very quiet and observant, picking things up quickly – she figured out a doggy door in just a couple of days! With patience and time, Trix begins to soften and build trust. She might even surprise you by playing with toys when she thinks no one is watching, enjoying time with other dogs, and eventually cuddling on the couch or sleeping in your bed.
Ideal Home
Trix will thrive in a home where someone is around often to provide consistent socialization and trust-building opportunities. She would benefit from a confident canine companion to learn from, but if you don't have another dog, a thoughtful plan for socialization and confidence building is a must. She is not a ready-made, confident dog, and requires patience, compassion, and commitment.
Ongoing Health
Trix is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations.
Training & Support
Trix is housebroken, loves her crate, and is learning to walk on a leash. She has been around children and was shy at first. Her history with cats is unknown.
