Meet Dahlia! This beautiful 44lb Black Lab mix, estimated to be born around May 5, 2023, is brimming with puppy energy and has a heart just as big. Dahlia is a fun-loving, sweet girl who is always up for an adventure, a cuddle session, or making a new friend. She's eager to learn and enjoys being around people, and she gets along wonderfully with both dogs and cats! Dahlia's story is truly remarkable; she was found bravely protecting her six-week-old puppies under a house. Thankfully, a rescue stepped in, her puppies found their forever homes, and just as her own future seemed uncertain, a foster came to the rescue, changing her life forever. Now safe and thriving, this happy pup is ready for the loving, forever home she so deserves.

Training & Support
Dahlia is already using a doggy door to potty like a pro and is currently learning leash training. Like many young dogs, she is still working through some puppy habits and is currently undergoing crate training. Providing her with plenty of toys and enrichment is very helpful for her success. She absolutely loves having lots of toys to play with and does best when she has both enrichment and companionship. Because she is still young, curious, and learning about the world, she will do best with a family excited to continue her training and help her grow into the amazing dog she's meant to be.

Transportation
Dahlia is located in Houston, TX. Transport is included in the adoption fee, and we coordinate with multiple transport services that operate weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states from Texas to your state or a neighboring state. These are ground transports using third-party vehicles (vans/buses) converted for dog transport. You will be able to track the van using the Life360 app and receive updates from transport along the way. Facebook chats are also available to stay informed on tracking dogs on transport. Please be able to use one of these available services if you wish to follow your adopted dog on transport. Pickup locations of transported dogs may vary, including to nearby towns or states.
