About Happy Meal

Happy Meal is coming up on his rescue anniversary. Let's help him find his forever home! Happy has come a long way in his almost year of foster from anxious stray to absolute lover boy. His big shepherd personality has really come out after decompression and he can boast glowing reviews from his veterinary behavioralist team! Not only is Happy loyal and active, he loves treats and is a complete cuddle bug. He has been working very hard to become confident on his own and with the help of medication and a regular schedule, he can be left for up to 8 hours a day in his cozy kennel. Even though he is past the puppy stage of life, he is playful and loves to romp in a fenced in yard. His curious side does still come out so he needs to be monitored at all times or in his crate to protect items around the house from becoming unintended chew toys. Don't worry! This boy is type A and loves a routine so he has learned when bedtime is and will put himself to bed with a nice nylabone to chew. Being a typical shepherd, he takes time to warm up to a new person but he is a Velcro dog once he does! If you are looking for a buddy to keep you company while you work from home then Happy Meal is the dog for you!

Ideal Home

Someone who is home more than not. He's not a social butterfly who wants to go to dog parks or restaurant patios, he prefers chilling at home. A fenced-in yard is a must, as he's working on leash manners but is a skilled escape artist. Happy Meal does not do well with cats or small animals due to a high prey drive, and he should not be around young children as he doesn't always know his own strength.

Ongoing Health

Happy Meal is on behavior medication and requires a follow-up appointment with Union Lake.

Training & Support

Happy Meal is still working on leash manners and his curious nature means he needs to be monitored to prevent him from becoming a chew toy. He thrives on routine and has learned to settle himself for bedtime with a chew toy.
