BUBBLES

Bubbles has been a little angel since arriving at our shelter over 6 months ago. While we do love him, the shelter is no place for a special dog like him. Bubbles has become the face of our shelter and has been featured at multiple events, serving as a wonderful representative. With Bubbles' age, he's not as active as he used to be, and while he still gets goofy and active, Bubbles is a big fan of just hanging out! Bubbles is a calm, thoughtful boy with a gentle presence and a quietly charming personality. He starts out relaxed and easy in his kennel, and while he may seem reserved at first, he becomes more animated once he’s out and about—especially when he has space to explore and sniff at his own pace. In the yard, Bubbles enjoys taking in the world through his nose, calmly wandering and observing his surroundings. He approaches people politely with a soft tail wag, happy to say hello without being pushy. He’s tolerant and accepting of petting and handling, and while he doesn’t always ask for affection, he allows it easily and will occasionally seek it out on his own terms.

Bubbles is very easy to leash, walks calmly, and has shown minimal reactivity to other dogs, even when they’re nearby. He quietly watches rather than reacting, making him a lovely companion for peaceful outings. He’s also food-motivated, already knows sit and paw, and is eager to engage in gentle training sessions. Toys don’t really interest him—he’s more about snacks, exploration, and calm connection. In playgroups, Bubbles prefers to explore his surroundings over associating with other dogs. He can co-exist happily but avoids any physical play. Bubbles is an independent yet handler-oriented, low-key dog who would thrive in a home that appreciates a mellow companion with a sweet, understated personality. Bubbles is an 8-year-old American Bulldog mix who is polite, doesn't bark, pull, whine, or demand attention. He is potty trained and like an old soul, just wanting to be his best for you!

Ideal Home

A home that appreciates a mellow companion with a sweet, understated personality. A home with another dog that needs a playmate may not be a good fit as Bubbles prefers to explore his surroundings over associating with other dogs and avoids physical play.

Ongoing Health

Bubbles has a skin rash on his back which is being treated and improving. He has a suspected sebaceous cyst, which is a skin mass that may change in size, become inflamed or infected, rupture, or require medical or surgical treatment. He also has a reported history of a cutaneous vascular tumor, either benign (hemangioma) or malignant (hemangiosarcoma). Hemangiosarcoma can be aggressive and may recur or metastasize, and further diagnostic testing may be recommended. A consistent diet and being in a stress-free environment will benefit any dog.

Training & Support

Bubbles already knows sit and paw, and is eager to engage in gentle training sessions. He is food-motivated. While Bubbles generally walks well on leash, he does have an exception for squirrels and may need continued guidance to leave them be.
