Dex

Dex is a 1.5-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix with a heart as big as his playful spirit! He's a smart, loyal, and affectionate companion who forms deep bonds with his people. Dex thrives on feeling included and secure, and he's happiest when he's part of the family fun. He enjoys games of fetch and tug-of-war, and he's a very social boy who plays well with dogs of all sizes. What truly makes Dex special is his ability to read social cues; he's patient, respectful, and backs off immediately if another dog isn't interested in playing. He walks calmly on leash without pulling and doesn't react to other dogs. Dex is intelligent and eager to learn, responding well to training and enjoying tasks that give him structure.

Ideal Home

Dex would do best in a home with adult adopters who enjoy walks and outdoor time. He is not suitable for a home with cats or small animals due to his strong prey drive. He may do best in an adult-only home or with dog-savvy teens who understand boundaries, as he can take time to warm up to new people and may growl when unsure.

Ongoing Health

Dex is up-to-date on vaccinations and is neutered.

Training & Support

Dex is fully house-trained and crate-trained. He goes into his crate willingly and sleeps through the night. He can also be left out in the house when his energy needs are met and doesn't exhibit destructive behaviors.
