Mimi is a sweet and resilient female American Staffordshire Terrier mix, approximately 5 years old and weighing around 38 lbs. She was found abandoned and underweight in Matamoros, Mexico, but her loving spirit never wavered. Now, Mimi is a happy, playful, and affectionate girl who adores human companionship. She's social with other dogs and can live with cats if introductions are supervised. Mimi is known for her active, funny, and loving nature, always showing gratitude and a desire to please. She's ready to leave her past behind and find a family to cherish.
Ideal Home
Mimi would thrive in a home with a securely fenced backyard. An active family that enjoys outdoor activities would be a great match. Applicants should have a genuine intention to rescue a dog and possess an open mind regarding the needs and behaviors of rescued animals. Experience with dog behavior and training is preferred, or a willingness to hire a professional trainer. High tolerance and patience are essential for a rescued dog like Mimi.
Ongoing Health
Mimi has received a comprehensive health protocol including: Spay/Neuter Certificate, DHPPI and Rabies Vaccinations, Bordetella Vaccine, Deworming, Microchip, 4DX Test and Certificate, Negative Heartworm Test Certificate, and monthly Nexgard Spectra (fleas, ticks, and heartworm) preventive. She also comes with a Health Certificate and a Vaccination booklet.
Training & Support
Mimi is not house-trained. It's important to understand that rescued dogs may require an adjustment period, and patience and understanding are crucial for building trust and strengthening your bond.

Applications start by contacting us through Wags. You will be asked to fill out an adoption form and provide photos/videos of your home to ensure a safe environment for your future pet.
Transportation
Mimi is currently fostered in Matamoros, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our cross-country trip if adopted. We organize 3-4 trips per year with scheduled door-to-door delivery. A transport fee of $400 USD applies.
