Gunner is a handsome 3-year-old, 50-pound black and tan hound mix with a heart full of love and a playful spirit! He was rescued from a small-town dog pound and is now ready to find his forever family. Gunner is a well-behaved boy who enjoys his crate, comes when called, and is a champ at car rides. He's also a fan of baths and absolutely adores human attention and cuddles. Give him a toy or a tasty treat, and he's your best friend! He also enjoys playing with other dogs. Being a hound, Gunner has a lot of personality! He's fascinated by squirrels, will bark at passersby, and has been known to counter-surf and raid the garbage with his buddies if given the chance. He's a typical goofy and happy hound who loves to snooze on the couch in the cool air conditioning, especially during the hot Texas days.

Gunner thrives in a home where he can get plenty of affection and playtime. He enjoys being with other dogs. He's also a hound, so a home that understands and can manage typical hound behaviors like barking at squirrels and neighborhood sights will be a great fit. Gunner is neutered, tattooed, microchipped, and up-to-date on all his vaccinations (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies). He has been treated for heartworms and is now heartworm-negative. He receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention.

Gunner is crate-trained and obeys commands like "sit" and "come." He's also good on a leash. He will need continued guidance to manage his excitement around squirrels and neighborhood activity.
