This brave mama has already lived a lifetime of survival. Just days ago, she was doing everything she could to protect her two puppies at a new home construction site—always on alert, unsure of the world around her, but never giving up on her babies. While her puppies were safely rescued, Katniss was too scared to come close. So we called in a trapper to help... and just two hours after the trap was set, she walked right in—as if she knew her life was about to change. Since then, everything has been new. A safe place to rest. A full belly. A trip to the vet. And finally, a foster home where she can begin to decompress. It’s a lot for a girl who’s likely never known kindness like this before, so she’s understandably scared right now. But here’s the beautiful part... even through her fear, Katniss is showing us who she really is. She has not a single aggressive bone in her body. She allowed gentle pets, leaned into the touch, and started to relax—just a little. Her sweetness is already shining through, and you can see how badly she wants to trust. Give her a few days, a little patience, and a lot of love, and we know Katniss is going to blossom into an incredible, devoted companion. She’s absolutely stunning, inside and out—and after everything she’s been through, she deserves nothing but the very best life has to offer. From surviving... to finally being safe—Katniss’s story is just beginning. ✨
