Ophelia has already lived through more than any young dog ever should. She was rescued on her very last day at a high-kill Texas shelter while heavily pregnant. Just three days after finding safety, she gave birth to a beautiful litter of puppies. Despite being so young herself, Ophelia proved to be an amazing, devoted mother, giving her babies the love and care they needed to thrive. Now, weeks later, every one of her puppies has found a loving home. It's finally Ophelia's turn! She has been spayed and is healthy, ready to discover what it's like to be someone's cherished family member instead of just someone's mama. Her body is still recovering from raising her puppies, but she's well on her way, and she's absolutely gorgeous. She is a big girl currently weighing 72lbs.

Ideal Home

Ophelia has a wonderfully calm, easygoing personality. She gets along well with other dogs and is respectful of livestock. Given her gentle, laid-back temperament, we expect she'll do well with cats and are happy to cat test her for interested adopters.

Ongoing Health

Ophelia has been spayed and is healthy.

Training & Support

She does use a dog door and is very smart, so she should learn a new routine pretty easily.

Transportation

All of our dogs are fostered in Texas. Our next transport is July 17/18th. Transport is included in our adoption fees, and all fees are paid at pick-up.

• Collinsville (north of St. Louis) - Friday evening
• Springfield - Friday evening
• Bloomington / Normal - Friday evening
• Oglesby - Saturday morning
• Roscoe - Saturday morning Wisconsin:
• Sun Prairie - Saturday late morning
• Fond du Lac - Saturday early afternoon
