Blue Moon is a wonderfully lowkey, gentle boy who'd thrive with a patient family and access to his people. He's a 2-year, 3-month-old, 51.6 lb standard-sized terrier mix with a muscular and lean build and a big, blocky head. Blue Moon is the floppiest, goofiest boy around, often flopping around at playtime with a big smile. He's a quiet companion who rarely barks, unless something startles him, like a knock at the door. His foster home has four cats, and he fits right in, making him a great fit for a home with a whole zoo of animals!
Ideal Home
Blue Moon would do well with a fenced yard or a family willing to do potty walks where he can meander at his own pace. He would thrive most with free-roam at night or sleeping with his people.
Ongoing Health
No specific ongoing health conditions were mentioned, but his adoption fee includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip.
Training & Support
Blue Moon walks well at a slower pace but sometimes "shuts down" mid-walk and needs a minute before continuing. This is likely rescue-related and can likely be trained out. He is house- and crate-trained. He is working on personal space, as he tends to rest his head on your shoulder in the car. He gets very defensive about non-oral medication, especially his ears, and has firm boundaries. He also exhibits some resource guarding around high-value toys (lip curling, minor growls) but does not seem to be aggressive with food. A patient parent is needed for these areas, but we truly think every one of these can be worked through with time.
