Meet Yeager, a tall, athletic, and incredibly handsome Doberman with boundless energy and a personality that's anything but boring! He's a complex dog, but at his core, he's just a happy, confident guy always ready for adventure. Yeager is a real project dog, not just a pup needing a little training. He's selective with his doggy friends, doing best with females and smaller to medium-sized males. He's also shown he can get along with cats and older children. Yeager is extremely happy, confident, and always ready to go, go, go!
Ideal Home
Yeager needs an experienced, active, and consistent human or humans who won't give up when he inevitably tests every boundary. Prior Doberman or working breed experience is strongly preferred. If you're looking for a chill, easy-going dog, Yeager isn't your guy. However, if you're ready for a high-drive, hilarious, frustrating, and incredibly rewarding project, Yeager could be the perfect match!
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions are mentioned, but owners should be aware of deep-chested breed needs.
Training & Support
Yeager is potty trained but will have accidents and mark indoors as he doesn't always signal his needs. He doesn't fully respect or understand human correction and learns patterns quickly, sometimes using them to his advantage, especially concerning food. He rarely settles, especially around other animals, as play is his main focus. He takes corrections from other dogs but often forgets them shortly after. He's also a master destroyer of beds, feeders, and anything not built for chaos. He eats very fast. Yeager is not untrainable but requires someone experienced, structured, and committed to ongoing, consistent training. This is not a dog to "figure it out as you go."
