Steel is your next adventure dude! He was found as a stray that showed up to a home and never left. Left behind in the freezing cold with snow on the ground, a kind woman and her daughter found him and kept him safe and warm while they searched for an owner, with no luck. Given their children were allergic, he is now in foster care with us. Steel is estimated to be 1 year old and is approximatley 35 lbs. He has a GORGEOUS blue merle coat male with piercing blue eyes. He is ready to trade his street past for a purpose.
Steel is a young, male aussie boy with puppy energy and a big heart. He is affectionate, intelligent and bonds deeply with his people. He wants to be involved and longs for a purpose and a family to show him what belonging feels like. As with any young aussie, he desires a consistent routine, supervision, plus some patience during the transition into your adoptive home. Once settled in Steel will steal your heart. He is very engaged with his person. Steel is fostered with an experienced trainer and he is learning all kinds of new things: how to remain calm, basic obedience, house manners, etc. our hope is he can take these new skills to his forever home.
Steel will do best with a few acres to run around or an active home. Steel is in a foster home with other dogs of all ages. He has done fabulous with them, even wanting to engage in play. He loves to chase and herd them in typical Aussie fashion. He has left barn cats alone but we are unsure of house cats. While Steel didn't have the best start, he has proved himself very eager to please and would make a wonderful addition to the aussie savvy home. He might even be good at a dog sport: agility, herding work, scent work, hiking/running, or just a farm or acreage life where he has a place to release a bit of energy.
Steel is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms. Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.
