Sandy

Sandy is a beautiful, shy girl looking for her forever home. She's a little under a year old and weighs about 19 lbs. We think she's a delightful mix of Pug, Chihuahua, and Dachshund. Sandy is very sweet and friendly with everyone, though it takes her a little time to warm up. She seems to really enjoy the company of other dogs and likes to be close to them. Sandy is mostly house-trained, walks well on a leash, and enjoys car rides. She's quiet and gentle, and once she trusts you, her true, loving personality shines through!

Ideal Home

Sandy would do well in a home with other dogs who can help her feel more comfortable. While she is good with all people, we believe she would be happiest with children aged 10 and up who understand the importance of giving her space to feel safe. She can be frightened by younger children who may not know to give her the room she needs. Sandy is particularly frightened of men and may shake or bark when they approach. This fear lessens if another dog is present or if she is being held by a woman while men pet her.

Sandy is spayed and vaccinated.

Training & Support

Sandy is mostly house-trained and walks well on leash. She will need continued patience and gentle guidance as she builds her confidence, especially around men.
