Peony is the dog that just radiates sunshine! This girl is the happiest, wiggliest, and most hilarious dog you'll ever meet. Peony has never had a bad day, and neither will her forever family because they get to soak up all the silliness and love she offers in abundance. She's a 5-year-old, 45lb staffie mix who has truly never met a stranger. She is fantastic with people, kids, dogs, and cats. She's wonderful with toddlers, gentle and loving, and amazing with dogs of all sizes. Peony is super playful but can absolutely adjust her play style to match her canine companions. She's also great with cats and was fostered in a home with two cats, never showing more than a passing interest. Peony is a dog who really thrives on routine and structure, which means providing her with plenty of guidance. When she's given this structure, she is absolutely wonderful, but without something to do, she can get overstimulated. With time and consistency, she'll adjust to her forever home's routine.

Peony thrives on routine and structure. She needs a home that can provide her with guidance, including "place work" for impulse control and settling inside, crate work, and proper exercise. Without these, she can get overstimulated.
Ongoing Health
Peony is currently undergoing heartworm treatment and will be ready to go to her forever home in mid-August.
Training & Support
Peony is still working on loose leash walking, as she gets excited about life and wants to explore! Her adopter should be dedicated to working with her on training, and consistency will be key. Our rescue provides adopters with various training resources to set them up for success. She is potty trained, though an adjustment period is expected with any new dog. She is crate trained and may cry for a few minutes before settling.

Transporation
Peony is fostered in Houston, TX. We work with trusted transport partners to transport our dogs to over 30 cities in the United States. Adopters are also welcome to pick up their dog in Houston. Once an adoption is confirmed, our team will work with you to determine the best transport schedule.
