Benny

Hewo der! My name is Benny! I am a male, 48 pound, labrador retriever, about 2 years old. I am neutered and fully vaccinated. I was rescued from a difficult situation and have been in foster care for about 6 months, learning to trust and love again. Now I'm on the hunt for my furever home!

Ideal Home

Benny would thrive in a home with a yard and a quiet space where he can relax and decompress. He would do well with other dogs, and would be a great companion for a family, a single person, or a couple who work from home. A smaller home is also fine, as Benny is content to nap in a quiet spot. He is not comfortable with cats or young children.

Benny is neutered and fully vaccinated.

Training & Support

Benny is fully potty trained and crate trained, and is doing very well with leash training. He has mild anxiety and can be somewhat independent. He is somewhat cuddly and affectionate, and somewhat playful with moderate energy. Benny needs time to build trust due to his past trauma. He can get nervous and bark, grumble, or run away if someone approaches too quickly. He is very submissive and skittish, and needs a patient adopter who can give him space to relax on his own terms. Treats and a quiet spot to decompress will help him warm up. He tends to warm up quicker to women than men.

Benny sometimes enjoys public outings but does not love car rides, though he is okay on shorter trips.
