About Navajo (Nav)
Navajo, a 6.5-year-old, neutered male Pitbull mix weighing 75 pounds, is a sweet, affectionate, and easygoing pup who brings the perfect balance of playful energy and relaxed companionship. He's the kind of dog who's just as happy joining you for a daily walk as he is curling up nearby for a cozy evening at home. Navajo enjoys playing with other dogs, particularly in one-on-one or small group settings, and generally reads social cues well, though he may occasionally need gentle redirection if he gets a little too excited. He's done well with dogs of all sizes, but tends to be most comfortable with those his size or smaller, and proper introductions help him succeed with larger dogs. He attends daycare regularly and has made great progress with his doggy manners. Navajo is polite and non-reactive on leash, though he may pull a little at the start of walks when he's excited. Once he settles in, he's a very pleasant walking partner. He is fully house-trained and crate-trained, and can be left loose in the house when you're away with no signs of separation anxiety. At home, he's calm, chill, and easy to live with. Navajo loves meeting people and greets strangers with friendliness. He has done well around children and would likely thrive in a home with kids, though interactions with very young children haven't been fully tested. He would do best in a cat-free home, as he has shown a strong prey drive and fixation toward cats. Navajo adores toys and will often greet you at the door proudly carrying his favorite stuffed animal. He's also a champion cuddler who loves being close to his people. He's an excellent car rider, great at the vet, has no issues with stairs, and loves cozy, unusual nap spots. Navajo has shown no resource guarding with food, treats, toys, or people. When he arrived in foster care, Navajo needed dental work and had several damaged teeth removed, including his canines. His remaining teeth are healthy, and he still happily chews his favorite bones without any trouble.
Ideal Home
Navajo would thrive in a stable, moderately active home that enjoys daily walks, occasional outings, and lots of affection. He doesn't need an ultra-active lifestyle – just consistent exercise, love, and companionship. He could do well as an only dog or with a compatible canine friend. He would do best in a cat-free home.
Ongoing Health
Navajo had dental work performed, including the removal of several damaged teeth, including his canines. His remaining teeth are healthy.
Training & Support
Navajo is fully house-trained and crate-trained. He is generally well-behaved on leash, though he may pull a little at the start of walks. He sometimes may need gentle redirection if he gets a little too excited with other dogs.
