Winy is a 1-year-old, approximately 30 lb male Labrador Creole mix with a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging! He was rescued in March 2024 and is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico. Winy is described as intelligent, obedient, and incredibly playful. He's a social butterfly with people, children, and other dogs, always ready for a game, a walk, or a good cuddle. While he can be a little shy when first meeting new people, his affection quickly melts away any hesitation, and he'll be in your arms in no time. Winy is also dog and cat friendly, docile, joyful, and loyal. He's already crate and leash trained, and he's ready to bring his fun-loving energy to his new home! Winy was found as a newborn puppy with his six siblings in a field, a testament to his resilience and journey to finding a loving family.
Ideal Home
Winy would thrive in a home with owners who have a fenced backyard and enjoy an active lifestyle, engaging in outdoor activities. He needs a family with an open mind about the needs of rescued animals and a willingness to provide them with protection and education. Experience with dog behavior and training, along with high tolerance and patience for rescued puppies, is essential. He is NOT house-trained.
Ongoing Health
Winy has undergone a comprehensive health protocol, including being spayed/neutered, receiving two DHPPI vaccines, a Rabies vaccine, and a Bordetella vaccine. He has been dewormed, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworm (with a certificate). He also received a 4DX test and certificate. He is currently on monthly preventive medication (Nexgard Spectra) for fleas, ticks, and heartworms. He has a health certificate and vaccination booklet.
Training & Support
Winy is not house-trained, which is a common characteristic of rescued animals that cannot be house-trained due to the sheer number of pets in foster care. He is crate and leash trained. Prospective adopters should be prepared to provide ongoing training and support with patience and understanding.

- A virtual or in-person home check will be conducted.
- A virtual meet-and-greet will be arranged to meet the pet and all family members.
- A trial adoption period with clear instructions for integration will follow, with a refund of the adoption fee (minus non-refundable transport fees) if the adoption does not work out.
Transportation
Winy is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our next cross-country trip. Transportation to the adopter's home address is available for a fee of $400.00, which is to be paid by the adopter prior to the pet's departure.
