Lyla

Lyla, a 5-year-old sweetheart from Georgia, has traveled north and is ready to find her forever home! She's as sweet as a Georgia peach and absolutely adores being by your side. Lyla is a fantastic couch companion, perfect for movie marathons, and would happily cuddle up on your lap. She gets along well with other dogs, showing interest in playing with a more energetic male dog but content to lounge nearby our smaller female dog. Lyla also enjoys car rides, taking in the sights (though she might try to sneak onto your lap for a better view!). She met some very young human triplets and seemed a bit overwhelmed by their noise and activity, so a quieter home would be ideal.

Ideal Home

Lyla would thrive in a home that is not too loud or overly active, and would likely prefer to avoid homes with lots of very young children due to her past experience with the triplets.

Ongoing Health

Lyla has a history of minor incontinence. She is currently on medication prescribed by a veterinarian, which has resolved the issue. It's possible she may need to remain on this medication long-term, though there's a chance she could be weaned off it in the future. She is up-to-date on all vetting, microchipped, and spayed.

Training & Support

Lyla is house-trained and crate-trained, readily using her crate without fuss. She walks nicely on a leash, though she does tend to zigzag a bit. Her recall is good but could use some refinement. She is very food-motivated, which will make future training efforts quite successful. She has not shown much interest in toys but responds well to treats. Lyla also did great during a bath at the pet store.
