Merlin

Merlin is a charming 4-year-old cattle dog with a brilliant mind and a kind heart, despite a challenging past. He spent nearly a year on his own before being rescued. While his exact history is unknown, we suspect he was abandoned due to his deafness. Merlin is a quick learner, eager to please, and remarkably adaptable. His deafness requires a communication style that relies on visual cues, consistency, and patience, but it certainly doesn't hold him back.

Ideal Home

Merlin would thrive in a home with a securely fenced yard, as this is a non-negotiable requirement. He is looking for a family who understands the energy and intelligence of cattle dogs and can provide him with activities and a "job" to do. Due to his deafness and active nature, Merlin needs a home without young children; teenagers and adults would be a much better fit. He also enjoys the company of other dogs and cats and would love to have a canine friend in his new home.

Ongoing Health

Merlin is deaf. This condition does not slow him down but requires his adopters to use visual cues for communication.

Training & Support

Merlin is already crate trained and housebroken. He is an athletic and happy dog who will enjoy walks, hikes, car rides, and plenty of yard time. Providing him with engaging activities and mental stimulation will be key to his success.
