Amber is a petite, athletic, affectionate mixed-breed girl who weighs about 40 pounds. She is cuddly, gentle, funny, smart, and devoted to her people. After a difficult early life, Amber is ready for a safe, loving home where she can enjoy plenty of affection and companionship.

Ideal Home

Amber loves children and enjoys greeting people on walks. She is reported to do well with dogs, but not cats. Because she can clear a six-foot fence while pursuing squirrels and has a strong prey drive, she must remain on leash outdoors and needs an attentive family. A physical fenced yard at least 4 feet high is required; electric fences are not accepted.

Amber enjoys relaxing on a dog bed by the window, cuddling beside her foster mom, and sleeping in bed at night. She collects shoes without chewing them.

Ongoing Health

Amber is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and receives year-round heartworm medication while in rescue care. She has been tested for heartworm, Ehrlichia, and Lyme disease. Her adoption includes 30 days of free pet insurance, with additional coverage available for purchase. A donor will pay her adoption fee in full, and she comes with one year of free Tractive GPS.

Training & Support

Amber is housebroken and crate trained. She has good leash manners with an attentive handler, and she will let you know when she needs to go outside. All dogs in the rescue have undergone temperament testing and live in foster homes.
