About Max (26-226)

Meet Max! This handsome German Shepherd has a gentle soul and is looking for a family willing to give him a little patience and a whole lot of love. Max was found as a stray in Georgia, and while his past is a mystery, he's eager to leave it behind and start a new chapter with a family of his own. When meeting new people, Max prefers slow introductions and appreciates being given the time and space to build trust at his own pace. Once he feels comfortable, you'll discover a sweet, loyal companion who simply needed someone willing to understand him. Max is a smart boy who already knows "sit" and "paw" and is eager to continue learning. He enjoys spending time with his people and responds well to positive interactions, making him a wonderful candidate for continued training and bonding. He has also done very well during his cat test, remaining completely non-reactive, so we believe Max could potentially live peacefully with a feline companion in his forever home.

Ideal Home

Max is looking for a family that understands the strongest bonds are built with time. If you're willing to let him settle in and move at his own pace, you'll gain a faithful companion who will stand by your side for years to come.

Ongoing Health

Max is currently heartworm positive and has already started treatment. He is handling everything like a champ, and we're committed to seeing his treatment through. If Max is adopted before completing treatment, our rescue will continue to cover the cost of his heartworm care as long as he remains under the treatment plan with our veterinarian. Max is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.

Training & Support

Max is a smart boy who already knows "sit" and "paw," and he's eager to continue learning. Like many German Shepherds, Max will thrive with an adopter who can provide consistency, structure, and encouragement as he continues to build confidence. Watching a shy dog learn to trust is one of the most rewarding experiences, and Max is sure to repay your patience with unwavering loyalty and love.
