Fable

Meet Fable (ACCT-A-253343)! This sweet "gentle lady" is looking for a quiet home where her shy but affectionate personality can truly blossom. Fable is a polite soul who is known for her soft eyes, gentle manners, and the way she kisses the bars of her kennel to say hello.

While Fable can be a bit nervous when first meeting new people or entering new environments, she warms up beautifully. Once she feels comfortable, she loves to lean her body right into your legs for some attention and will sit politely by your side. She is a dream on a leash, walking with a loose body and a relaxed, open mouth, making her a wonderful companion for peaceful walks.

Fable is quite gentle when it comes to snacks, taking treats with the utmost care. Because of her sensitive and slightly timid nature, she would be happiest in a home with children aged 10 and up who can appreciate her calm vibe. When meeting other dogs, Fable is polite but seems to value her personal space. She may prefer to be your one-and-only or live with a very calm companion who respects her boundaries.

Behavioral Notes 06/26/2026 per staff: Visited with Fable. Fable has soft eyes and soft ears when approaching. Will lick you through kennel (doesn't appear to be appeasement licking). Takes treats gently and is an overall gentle lady

06/24/2026 per staff behavioral eval: Kennel Presentation: At the front of the kennel with for eyes, ears to the side and mid tail curled up loosely wagging. Took a treat gently when I offered it.

Leash Skills: Easy to leash and minimally pulls on the leash. Loose body, soft eyes, relaxed open mouth while walking through the kennels.

Sociability: When I first crouched down she came over leaning her body into my legs and allowed all handling. After she would sit next to me, however did not solicit for attention. I would do consent pets and she would lick my hand after (this could have been an appeasement response, not asking for more pets)

Play: n/a

Dog interaction: Good greetings with Brandy at first and then low growled as they stood longer. Growled again at a distance when Brandy was looking at her. Met Coyn good greetings and then moved away on her own. Did not reapproach.

Return to Kennel: Went right into her kennel and removed leash with hand.

Color Level: Exp Gold

06/24/2026 per staff: Soft eyes in kennel , approached and kissed bars with soft ears. Took treat VERY gently.

06/18/2026 per staff: dog is scared, nervous but friendly, able to leash, showed a little resistance when being handled, still, no aggression shown
