Meet Coffee! She's a sweet 3-year-old girl who was rescued from a kill shelter before heading to a dog meat farm in South Korea. We work with partners who pull these dogs from unimaginable horrors. Many start in horrific puppy mill-type facilities, living in tiny wire crates in filth. If not sold young, they are either used for breeding and then sold to the meat trade, or sold directly. Jindo and Tosa breeds are commonly farmed for meat, often as breeding farms until they reach a good age and weight. South Korea is one of the few countries that farms dogs for meat, with dishes like "bosintang" (dog meat soup) being popular. While younger generations are increasingly against this practice, we hope education and time will bring an end to this horrific trade. Coffee, along with some of her family and friends, has been flown here for a chance at a real future. These are miracle dogs! Our adoption fee is $600, which helps offset some of the flight costs.
