Hey there! I'm Chook, but my foster parents sometimes call me Chaz JuM. I'm a handsome Bully Breed mix with a beautiful, soft red coat and ears that are just a little bit quirky. I'm a medium-sized guy, around 42 pounds, and I'm ready to bring some fun into your life!
My journey to finding my forever home has been a bit of an adventure. I was rescued from a situation where someone was trying their best to help but couldn't manage all the responsibilities of being a foster. Luckily, I landed with some amazing foster parents who happen to be professional dog trainers! They've been teaching me all sorts of cool things, like "sit," "down," and my personal favorite, "Place!" I'm also getting the hang of responding to directional cues when we're out and about.
When I first meet new people, I can be a little shy, but once I warm up, I turn into a playful and energetic pup! I love to express myself with happy vocalizations and zoom around the backyard like a goofball. I'm looking for a home with older teenagers, but I must let you know that I have a very mouthy play style with my humans, so I'd do best in a home without young children. I get along wonderfully with other dogs and love to play with them, though I can sometimes be a bit pushy. My foster parents say I'm easily corrected, which helps a lot! I haven't met any cats yet, so we'll have to see about that.
Ideal Home
I would thrive in a home with older teens, but I need to avoid homes with young children due to my mouthy play style. A home with other dogs would be fantastic, as I'm very dog-social and enjoy their company.
Ongoing Health
I'm a healthy guy and haven't had any significant health concerns.
Training & Support
I'm a quick learner and already know some basic commands like "sit" and "down." I also respond well to leash guidance. I can be a bit mouthy during play, so my new family should be prepared to redirect this behavior. My foster parents are trainers, and they'll provide some guidance for your success!
