Walter is thought to be a German Shepherd Mix, a perfectly sized blend of handsome with a sturdy, athletic build that makes him easy to take anywhere and substantial enough for a good cuddle. He's a medium size, big enough to keep up on walks but compact enough to not take up the entire sofa.
Ideal Home
Walter is looking for a feline-free sanctuary, as he finds cats a little too exciting. He would do best with a medium-energy dog sibling who enjoys playtime but also appreciates a good afternoon nap. He'll fit in whether you have a big backyard or a cozy city apartment, as he is a pro on leash and doesn't need a massive yard to stay happy.
Ongoing Health
Walter is up-to-date on all vetting, which includes DAPP with booster, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines, multiple broad-spectrum deworming treatments, flea prevention, and a 12-month injectable heartworm preventative. He has also been tested for heartworm and will receive treatment if needed.
Training & Support
Walter is already crate trained and potty trained, making the transition into your home a breeze. He has been a perfect gentleman in his crate, even with activity around him. He's a dream in the car and ready to be your co-pilot. He is also dog-social and fantastic at reading other dogs' body language, knowing how to politely ask for space when needed.

Walter is located in a foster home in Houston, Texas. Transportation is available nationwide through our rescue's USDA-certified transport system. Drop-off locations include WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, and Canada. For Canadian adopters, pick-up is in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT.
