Edie

Edie is the little queen of our shelter office! One look at her adorable underbite and you are willing to pledge your allegiance! She is a 9-year-old Chihuahua whose previous owner could no longer care for her.

This regal lady loves her carriage rides, sitting up above the other dogs. She’ll typically ride in the stroller for the first part of the office walk, then once we turn around, she tends to get up and walk the rest of the way home. Edie is smart enough to know that we have to go up the big hill on the way out, but on the way back, she can just coast down it!

Edie is very affectionate with her people and gets so excited to see her friends! She will make a great companion. While she loves people, she mostly just tolerates the other dogs in the office, so she would probably prefer to go home alone where she can be the princess she knows that she is!

Ideal Home

Edie would prefer a home where she can be the only pet, ruling her kingdom as princess.

Ongoing Health

Edie had a seizure shortly after arriving at the shelter and has been started on seizure medication, which will be a lifelong need for her to manage focal seizures. She also had masses removed which were benign, and a significant dental surgery where she had 14 teeth extracted.

Training & Support

Edie is a smart girl and has adapted well to her new routine. She is affectionate and clearly enjoys human companionship.
