Sentry is a 6.5-month-old, male Retriever/Pit Bull mix who currently weighs 40 pounds and is expected to be a large dog when fully grown. His mother, Wanda, weighs approximately 55 pounds. Sentry was rescued with his mother and siblings from a rural area outside of Houston, Texas. He is a happy, affectionate, and playful puppy who loves people and other dogs. Sentry is potty trained and is eager to learn. He is outgoing, friendly, and always ready to make a new friend. He has been raised alongside his littermates and his mom and loves playing with other dogs. He has been around children and has done well. Sentry is continuing to practice his leash skills and basic obedience.
Ideal Home
We are looking for a home committed to reinforcing good manners, building Sentry's confidence, and helping him continue to mature into an exceptional adult dog. We prefer homes that already have another friendly, well-mannered dog to help mentor and guide Sentry. If you don't currently have a dog, we'd love to hear your plan for continued socialization. Because Sentry is still a young dog, we also prefer homes where someone isn't routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time.
Ongoing Health
No specific health concerns are mentioned.
Training & Support
Sentry is potty trained and is continuing to practice his leash skills and basic obedience. Ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice will help him thrive. Continued socialization is very important for Sentry.
