Meet Rufus, a 2-year-old, 22-pound Cockapoo/Shih Tzu mix who is as smart and sweet as he is fluffy! Rufus was found as a stray, a scruffy mop of a dog with a big heart and a wagging tail, even when things were tough. Now cleaned up and safe, he's revealed himself to be joyful, clever, and incredibly affectionate. At 22 pounds, he's the perfect size for cuddling without being too fragile, and he absolutely adores belly rubs! Rufus is a well-behaved boy who walks nicely on a leash, knows "sit," and is eager to learn. He's crate and house trained when kept on a schedule, and he comes when called. Rufus loves other dogs and would thrive with a playful canine companion, but he'd also be happy as an only dog with active humans.

Ideal Home

Rufus is best suited for a home without children under 10, as he's still polishing his manners and has a lot of enthusiasm for life. He would thrive with another playful dog but would also do well as an only dog with active humans.

Rufus is completely vetted, neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up to date on vaccines.

Training & Support

Rufus is house trained as long as he is kept on a schedule. He isn't naughty, just exuberant, and would benefit from a dog-loving person who understands he may need a little time to adjust and settle in.
