Meet Ramus, a young, sweet, brave, friendly, and energetic Shepherd mix! She's a bundle of joy, always ready to play and explore. Despite her young age, Ramus is incredibly courageous and unafraid to try new things or make new friends. With a heart full of love and an indomitable spirit, she brightens up every room. Ramus gets along with everyone she meets, both humans and other dogs. Her energetic nature makes her the perfect companion for anyone who enjoys an active lifestyle. Adopting Ramus means gaining a loyal friend, a brave companion, and a source of endless love and joy. She is ready to find her forever home. Are you prepared to open your heart and home to her?
Ideal Home
Ramus would thrive in an active home that embraces her energetic spirit. We recommend caution when introducing dogs to cats in the home.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions or procedures are mentioned.
Training & Support
Ramus's behavior in the shelter is a snapshot in time and may not reflect her true personality in a home environment. Adopters should be prepared to invest time and energy into working with their new dog, as animals arrive from various situations and may have had little to no prior training. We encourage adopters to research Shepherd mixes for their unique characteristics. The "Rule of 3" should be used as a guideline during her transition:
- First 3 days: Expect fear, anxiety, and stress. She may seem lethargic, hide, be easily excitable, or have a loss of appetite.
- Next 3 weeks: She will be developing a routine, and new personality traits may emerge. Limit her exposure to new people and places, and provide a crate or quiet room when you are away. Keep outings short and avoid crowds or loud noises.
- After 3 months: A bond should have developed, and she should be more comfortable in unfamiliar situations.
Application Details:
- Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
- Dogs are generally tested with dogs of their size in a group setting.
- Dog meet-and-greets with the adopter's dog(s) are always encouraged.
- A cat test may be conducted at the adopter's request but should only be used as a general-purpose screening to rule out overt aggression.
- Recommendations on suitability with children are based on behavioral observations; however, we never recommend leaving young children unsupervised with dogs and cannot guarantee behavior with children or other pets.
