Drifter

Drifter is a dog who believes that meeting new people is the best part of life! He greets everyone with his whole heart, and his excitement is infectious. While he might seem a little overwhelming at first due to his size and enthusiastic greetings, once he settles down, you'll discover an incredibly loving and well-mannered companion. Drifter is fully housetrained, knows his basic commands, and is highly food motivated, making continued training a breeze. He enjoys adventures, car rides, and simply spending time with his people, whether that's on a walk or relaxing at home.

Ideal Home

Drifter would do best in a home with older children or younger children who are confident around large, energetic dogs, as he can be a bit much for those easily intimidated. He also gets along well with other dogs, though a meet and greet is required to ensure a good match. Drifter is not a good fit for a home with cats.

Ongoing Health

Drifter comes neutered, current on vaccines, heartworm tested negative, on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention, and microchipped.

Training & Support

Drifter is known to occasionally use his mouth like a hand when excited, a trait common in herding breeds. This is not aggression but a form of communication. He is very responsive to redirection and treats, and consistency will help him improve. As with any dog adjusting to a new environment, he may benefit from enrichment and appropriate chew toys to help him settle in.
